Meetings
The Kingston orchid Society meets the fourth Sunday of
the month, September to November, January to May inclusive. Meetings now
take place at the Ongwanada Resource Centre, 191
Portsmouth Ave.
A map of our new meeting place is shown below where there is plenty of
parking.
Meetings start at
1:30pm. but come early to check out the library,
plants for sale and to chat with other members.
If you have a sick orchid, a "Plant Doctor" is available
each week at 1:00pm. (please bring your sick plant in a plastic bag).
Our meetings include a Show Table of orchids in bloom,
announcements of upcoming events, a raffle with orchid or orchid related
prizes and guest speakers, presenting on a wide range of topics of
interest to beginners and more experienced growers. Visitors are very
welcome.

Annual Auction
The KOS holds an auction of orchid plants every
year and this year it will be held during the March meeting. All
members are welcome to consign plants for
the sale
Members and non-members are welcome to bid on the
plants offered and this is a great way to acquire new plants.
Also to have the advantage of getting cultural advice from the
member grower who provided the plant. |

Bus Trips
Once or twice a year, the KOS organizes a bus trip to
orchid shows in Southern Ontario. The cost of these trips is about
$40-$45 and includes bus fare and entrance fees. members are given first
priority for places on the bus, but non-members are also invited if
there are places available.
